Sapientia Initiative’s Center for the Alexander Technique in New York City is a suite of studios located on the 6th floor at 115 W. 27th Street. It is conveniently located near all subways and other major transportation hubs into the city.
The Center is comprised of largely open space with high ceilings, and offers a large, sound- proof and window-lined studio, two private teaching rooms with windows, a reception and waiting area, a kitchen, and two hall bathrooms with overhead ventilation and air purifiers.
Our 625sq. ft. big studio comes equipped with chairs, Alexander tables, skeleton models, yoga mats, straps, and resistance bands. It has excellent ventilation and southern exposure lighting in addition to an air conditioning/heating unit, fans, and air purifiers. One of the walls is covered with floor to ceiling mirrors and there are additional Alexander Technique props for private or group classes.
Our medium-sized 130 sq. ft. corner studio is a corner room with windows on two sides. It has excellent ventilation and southern exposure lighting. The studio is equipped with an air conditioning/heating unit and fans; an air purifier is available upon request. There is a full-length mirror, two chairs, and an Alexander table in the room. Additional Alexander Technique props are available upon request.
Our small 80 sq. ft. teaching room has an eastern facing window, and a pass-through window facing a southern exposure. The room contains an air conditioning/ heating unit; a fan or air purifier is available upon request. It has a full-length mirror, two chairs, and an Alexander table. Additional Alexander Technique props are available upon request.
The above-described rooms can be rented individually, or all together. Additionally, the open reception, waiting, kitchen area offers table seating and chairs for small conferences, and can be rented separately.
Sapientia Center’s Hygiene Protocol follows all current CDC, state, and local guidelines. Each studio is stocked with alcohol spray bottles for wiping down surfaces, hand sanitizer, paper towels, tissues, and latex gloves.
